Job Location: Leicestershire Job Position: Design Engineer Department: Compact Engineering Reporting To: Design Manager Job Status: Contract Job Profile: The Engineer will have a varied and exciting role creating new designs from concept through to detailed design ensuring the parts are validated and meet the functional requirements. Essential Skills Experience and Qualifications: Must be educated to degree level in an Engineering or Science subject. Must have past experience of designing using Pro-E design package. You must have Machine engineering design experience. You will need to have previous experience in designing structural fabrications & non-metallic components. You must have knowledge and experience of problem solving analysis. You must have knowledge of Engineering processes, drawing standards, specifications, and Teamcentre. You must have experience of Off highway equipment or other heavy machinery. You must have the ability to self direct but also work effectively in a diverse team environment. Job Description: You will be working on improvements to current production models and the development of new products. The candidate will be responsible for the production release of the parts and expected to work with suppliers to ensure the parts can be manufactured and meet the cost and quality targets. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and be able to work on multiple areas of the machine i.e. structural fabrications, non-metallic components & cab interior. Critical to the success of the role will be an enthusiastic attitude showing the initiative to solve engineering problems and be able to work to tight deadlines. As part of this role, communication with other design centres will be required for worldwide design collaboration. Rate: £16 - £28 per hour on a limited company basis depending on previous experience.
