Job Description Develop and support embedded sub-assembly and instrument test firmware product from conception to production. Provide testing firmware technical leadership within the Instrument Engineering team and work closely with the R&D team. This position requires a complete and experienced embedded software engineer. The individual will work in Instrument Engineering and R&D teams in bifurcated capacity: team and solo environments leading internal or external projects and resources and interface with vendors. Projects span from researching requirements to completion of verification and validation testing. Expected to develop and put in use testing firmware for various subsystems and final assemblies of the scientific instrumentation developed at the site. Generates technical documentation, analysis and rationale to drive architecture, design, and coding decisions to obtain approval from Senior Staff Engineers and/or Engineering Managers. Qualifications 5 years embedded software engineering experience with a significant portion as a technical lead and a significant portion in the medical field Experience required with C, C++, LabView, and prefereably with MathLab, LabWindows, and the embedded scripting language, Lua BSEE or BSCS required, MSEE or MSCS preferred
