Business Analyst
This nationally recognized Government organization is currently looking for a Technical Business Analyst to carry out a replacement of technical assets to ensure the reliability, efficiency and performance of their current infrastructure base. The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for investigation, collation and analysis of the organisation's desktop environment. The aim is to build a complete and detailed knowledge base of the applications in use; how, why and when they are used; and determine the most appropriate, actions, processes and controls for their migration to a Windows 7 SOE. The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for discovering, investigating and documenting the current end user desktop application environment. You will conduct workshops to acquire client requirements and understand business expectations. There will be a responsibility to analyse the desktop environment and document target future applications environments. You will provide expert advice on application needs, configuration, use and administration within a managed SOE to ensure solutions are consistent with client expectations. There will be a strong emphasis on Quality Assurance, Overseeing application packaging, reviewing user acceptance test plans and ensuring project deliverables meet the agreed standards and are fit for production release. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience, with recent experience, as a Business/Technical Analyst on a Windows 7 SOE project. You will have knowledge and experience with: MS Windows administration and deployment practices and tool kits – e.g. MS SCCM, MS migration tool kits to support the management of the transition to Win7 and IE8 and transition and remediation techniques and best practice for web based and Windows XP era applications, e.g. Application virtualisation. The right candidate will have a proven ability and knowledge of acceptance testing methodologies. A high level of computer literacy including MS Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Access or other databases to support the management of transition documentation and data is also needed for the position.
