Senior Citrix Engineer
Experis is actively seeking a technically skilled Citrix professional for an exciting role in the northern suburbs of Chicago. The scope of this job is an experienced Citrix Engineer: To focus on performance management in the Citrix platform. Lead, design, engineer, build, test, and upgrade platform infrastructure; implement and maintain/support Enterprise virtualization platform; provide consulting services to clients across the Enterprise, with the ability to understand and assimilate complex cross-discipline, and cross-technology concepts and processes. This posting relates to a role that will be responsible for the management of processes that help monitor the Citrix infrastructure, inclusive of capacity and architecture planning as well as performance assessment and analyses. Skillsets: 1. Each member of the team must have the experience and significant knowledge working with the industry technology standards and processes, as enumerated below. Their level of knowledge must be sufficient for them to be able to establish and maintain the technology infrastructure and in particular, advocating industry best practices. The member must also have the ability to assimilate industry trends and technology developments, and provide technical leadership within IS in keeping the Citrix Infrastructure not only current but leading in the industry. Infrastructure Provisioning SDLC Methodologies Reusable Frameworks Security Standards (SOX, PCI, etc) Capacity and Performance Analysis Operational Tenets of Citrix Infrastructure. 2. Each member must have advanced skills, knowledge and experience, in the technologies enumerated below that would allow them to perform installation, configuration, administration, management, performance tuning, advanced customization and advanced troubleshooting. . - Citrix XenApp Suite 4.0 6.5 - Citrix Web Interface 4.0 5.4 - Citrix EdgeSight - XenDesktop 4.0 5.5 - Citrix Profile Manager - Citrix Secure Gateway - Netscaler 9.x 10.x - Citrix Receiver/ICA clients 3. Each member must have significant knowledge of the following infrastructure technologies. This experience should be sufficient to allow them to perform administration, and development with these technologies. Additionally, each member must have the ability to dive deeper into each of these technologies as it relates to the Citrix infrastructure in support of advanced installation, configuration, and troubleshooting activities. - Windows 2003/2008/2008R2 - Microsoft Active Directory - Microsoft Group Policy - Microsoft IIS - SQL Server 4. Additionally, each member should have knowledge of the technologies specified below that would allow them to suitably manage the industry technology standards (specified in 1 above), and specific technologies (specified in 2 and 3 above). - Scripting; Powershell, vbscript, windows batch - Security/Cryptography Technologies SSH, SSL, Certificates - Networking Technologies - F5, GSLB, Load Balancers 5. Each member must have a solid understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles, practices and processes in providing and managing the delivery of a large scale, Enterprise-wide service. This includes incident management, problem management, change management, configuration management, and availability/continuity management. The member must have sufficient knowledge and experience to design and establish these processes and practices within a service organization. 6. Each member of the team must be comfortable in addressing Priority 1 level incidents that can arise 24X7 necessitating participation in rapid response calls as well as SWAT Team activities. Advanced troubleshooting and problem management skills are required. 7. Each member of the team should have familiarity and experience with the design of various technology automation architectures and patterns, high availability configurations, and disaster recovery strategies and processes. Each member must have experience in capacity planning and management as well as exposure in performance testing and trending analyses. 8. As part of their day to day responsibilities, each individual must also posses the following skills: Ability to identify opportunities for automating and orchestrating the manual / time consuming redundant processes with the view to scale it for the enterprise needs. Ability to refine the architecture and workflows to tune to scale based on the enterprise needs. Ability to lead the implementation of programs, projects or technology implementation, providing technical leadership to a team, partnering with architecture services and other subject matter experts, engaging other technology teams (infrastructure partners), and working with key stakeholders and users. Ability to communicate to and manage a wide user base in providing information, providing education and managing expectations in the process of the overall management of the service. Ability and inclination of working with different users, teams or areas in providing customer service in the delivery of a large scale service. Ability to present and advocate enterprise standards, technology standards, environment policies, procedures, strategies and best practices in working with different users, teams and application areas. Ability to document and present standards, processes and guides. Ability to take part in a team that is responsible for 24X7 Support of the Citrix Infrastructure that is achieved through a tiered structure of support as well as the incorporation of sourcing partners, both onshore and offshore. Experience Education: College degree or equivalent work experience; 8-10 years of related experience and technology certification preferred (i.e. Windows, VMware, Citrix, Storage, Hardware, ITIL, etc.)
