Sr. Web Services .Net Developer 18 months .Net, C#, Web Services, WCF, API, Rest Services, MVC Seattle, WA Job Description Web Services .Net Develop, WCF, Rest Services Our clients group is looking to fill some roles for a senior back end developer for a 6 month contract position with some possibility of extension. This person will need to be highly skilled in web service development as they will be working on a small team focused on creating scalable RESTful services. Ideally, the right candidate will have 3+ years of experience with MVC and/or WCF and 6+ years general .NET & SQL development experience with large scale public facing sites and services. Candidates with strong automated testing experience and some exposure to other programming languages are preferred. Strong object oriented development and design skills (C# / .NET Framework 4.0) Experience with Visual Studio 2010 Experience using source control, preferably Team Foundation Server 2010. Experience with other source control systems such as Git, SVN, etc. is helpful. Experience with SQL Server 2008 o Creating tables, writing stored procedures, debugging, performance tuning, SSIS. Experience with other databases are a plus (document, key/value, etc. : Mongo, Redis, Azure) Experienced with design, development, and testing of ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET MVC Web API, and WCF services (SOAP & REST) o Understanding of, and ideally experience using, various forms of security applied to web services such as Basic Auth, OAuth 2.0, and api keys. o Experience with both XML and JSON data. o Experience consuming publicly available rest services is beneficial (Twitter, Facebook, services found on ProgrammableWeb.com, for example) o Experience using a variety of tools & languages to consume and test services is a plus (C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, etc. and any tools such as Fiddler, Rested) o Experience with cloud hosted services and service proxy layers / applications is a plus. Testing experience including o Automation, particularly around services / API tests o Visual Studio / Team Foundation / Other tools o Designing, creating, and executing unit tests, integration testing, load and performance tests. Ability to work in a fast past environment Should be a good team player, pro-active in identifying gaps and suggesting solutions, good with problem solving.
