Student/ Graduate Placement - Process Mapping
This is initially a 10 week placement through the Step programme (www.step.org.uk) and candidates must be a current student or have graduated in the last 3 years to apply. The Role Having undergone a number of changes in the last two years there is now an exciting opportunity for a student to work with them over the summer to map their business processes. This is a 10 week summer placement through the Step Classic programme. This is a key role within the business and a priority in moving the company forward. The successful student will be working on:  Documentation of business process  Publishing MI via email, shared drive, mobile, intranet  Documenting reporting process and procedures.  Reducing cycle time taken to produce routine MI.  Improving visual look and feel of process maps e.g data ink, Swimlanes, mobile, training material, quality standard material  Liaising (& training) with end users to put the process flow in business context.  Liaising with business users to further develop process improvement and better understanding of underlying business processes and data structures  Potentially training delivery There are around 100 processes that the company are keen to map and this project is very important for the progress of the business. Candidates All candidate will be studying a business degree with a knowledge of processes, systems, mapping and analysis. Will be a logical thinker with strong IT skills (especially Excel) and excellent communication skills. Candidates will also ideally have knowledge of Lean business models, business analysis and operations analysis.
