Desktop Support Technician
Desktop Support Technician Provides Tier I & II technical support and assistance to end-users at all skill levels with a wide variety of software, hardware and network issues for both Windows and Apple operating systems Services Help Center HEAT tickets that support the campus desktop environment and all aspects of campus owned business software products (Peoplesoft, Etc.) in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner Responsible for the configuration, asset tagging and deployment of new computer systems (Desktops, laptops, tablets, Etc.) to campus community including migration of all university approved programs and files from existing computers Performs reclamations of the existing Faculty and staff computer systems in accordance with University approved computer equipment reclamation and recycling process Responsible for diagnosing and repairs of all University owned desktops, laptops, and approved peripherals. Installs, configures and supports any University approved and licensed software applications including operating systems, (i.e. MS Windows & Office Suites, Adobe CS6, McAfee Anti-virus, Malwarebytes, Etc.) Troubleshoots desktop issues due to viruses, spyware, and other forms of malware. Remediates infected/compromised systems when warranted. Creates, updates, maintains, and provides support for all standard notebook and desktop images. Works with peer technicians and Help Center staff, Network Operations, and Enterprise Services groups as appropriate to determine, test and ultimately resolve desktop problems. Other job related duties and responsibilities may be assigned and/or the job description changed periodically to reflect organizational needs and shifting priorities.
