Our Rowlett Texas client is looking to fill a Desktop Support role. Please send all inquiries to craig.mckinney@arc-is.com POSITION SUMMARY Installs, modifies, makes repairs or assists in the installation/de-installation of microcomputer hardware, components and peripherals such as CPU’s, memory, disk drives, monitors, network cards, keyboards, printers and scanners. Provides attachment to network, servers and major computer systems such as the IBM AS/400. Loads software packages, enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation. Ensures reliability of computers, peripherals and related equipment by evaluating, diagnosing and repairing equipment. Provides software support; works with outside providers to repair equipment and troubleshoots/diagnoses systems. Observes and analyzes operator or user problems. Provides basic end user training. Installs operating systems, performs backups, and applies patches. Uploads content to web server using Microsoft CMS, maintains security, documents resources, and performs other related tasks. Develops and keeps current, a detailed inventory of hardware/software using purchase, location, user and warranty information. Organizes equipment storage facilities, maintains spare parts, spare device inventories, and an inventory of all software installed on individual computers. Works with Network and System Administrators for technical assistance to resolve network, system, voice/data problems to promote effective operations. Implements security functions to insure protection of data from unauthorized users. Assists by writing, debugging, diagramming, flowcharting, coding and documenting problems/solutions. Enters tickets into Help Desk system.
