A transport and routes controller is required by a leading London Hospital who provide first class acute and specialist services to local patients. Being one of the first points of contact to new patients, you will have a direct impact on patient experience. The right candidate will become an integral part of the team and ensure the patients journeys are planned and delivered in an efficient, effective and courteous manner. You will allocate drivers to optimum routes to collect and deliver patients to the hospital, as well as take them home after treatment. Requirements: Level 3 NVQ Customer Care, or equivalent experience 4 GCSE’s or the equivalent 3 years experience in working the general public Understanding of patient confidentiality, equal opportunities and diversity, and Data Protection Act Key responsibilities: The administration of patient transport services, ensuring accurate information is entered and recorded logically and methodically Implement a standardised assessment of patient’s eligibility for hospital transport services in a timely manner, making sure priorities are met according to clinical needs of the patients. Ensure the patients journeys are planned and executed in the most effective and efficient way to meet patient’s needs. Answer incoming calls to the department as well as transport related queries, provide information on transport requests and services to both patients and colleagues. To process all requests for drug and equipment movements between sites. Advise patients of alternative methods to get to the hospital if they do not meet the criteria. Demonstrate care and understanding for the patients and any medical conditions they may have, providing assistance and reassurance if the patient or carer becomes confrontational or distressed. To ensure the transport department have adequate levels of supplies , and highlight when new stock is required.
