Kforce has been retained by one of its local clients to find a Systems Admin for a 3 month Contract-to-Hire in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Responsibilities include: Manage/ administer large complex VMware environments (v4.1, v5) Knowledgeable of VMware Cloud software solutions (e.g. Vcloud Director) Capacity, automation and tuning Maintenance (e.g. firmware, OA) Disaster recovery Project management and enablement (internal/external) Manage storage assigned to virtualized computing environments Reviews, analyzes, build, configure and administers servers (Rack mount, blades and enclosure) Advance (Sr.) knowledge of Windows 2003, 2008, Red Hat Linux V4, 5, 6 and Oracle/SUN OS Consults with personnel to identify current operating procedures and to clarify objectives Provides COTS, Custom Application and third party software web hosting support Collaborates with other technical staff to resolve problems with Software / Infrastructure systems, detail understanding of monitoring, security, DR and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements Provide oncall and Application deployment support (Weeknights/Weekends) Ability to lead small to moderately complex projects Work independently in the absence of Supervision Possess excellent analytical, organizational, strategic and critical thinking skills Create technical environment documentation Ability to automate utilizing Powershell, Perl, etc., scripting Performs other duties as assigned Systems Admin Skills: OS Experience: Windows 2008, 2003/2000, RedHat (All versions), Solaris (All versions). Storage: Local and SAN (All RAID Types), NFS, RDM, etc. HW Experience for Dell, HP, IBM, HP Blades Knowledgeable of web Services: IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic, SSL Certs, Oracle Application Server (OAS) Environmental: HA, MS Clustering, Load Balancing Networking: CISCO, Routers, Switches experience and Virtual IP DBMS: SQL, Oracle, UDB.DB2 system Admin level Backup: NetBackup, Avamar, Mondo (UNIX) Security: Knowledgeable of fire walls, server security for internet facing Apps, encryption Knowledgeable of DR processes and principles Knowledgeable of project Management process and principles (Leadership qualities) Virtualization: VMware v4 and Vsphere 5 Vcloud Director Vfabric Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
