A real estate company which uses a precise system of selecting target properties is looking for a consultant who can help us create a scalable, automated mapping system. We currently utilize google earth pro and excel and would like a system which is flexible, scalable, and affordable. We would like to avoid using an expensive proprietary system like ESRI if possible. Please let us know how you propose to work on this project, what you believe the total cost to implement would be, and what the milestones should be. ------------------------------------------ Added 1 AUG 2012, 2:52 AM EDT Our business requires us to compute a "score" for every site we identify. That score is a sum of a number of sub-scores. Each of those sub-scores is generated by measuring the distance between a certain nearby service (e.g. library, pharmacy, grocery, etc.) and the target site. Each type of service has a different set of distances from the site for full points or partial points. We want to do two things: 1. We want to type in an address and generate a score 2. We want to be able to comb and entire state and generate a "heat map" representing the total likely scores of every square foot of the state. Each State requires a slightly different set of scoring criteria: Services are different, score weighting is slightly different, etc. The system must be set up so that a relatively non-technical user can change these scoring parameters "on the fly" to simulate a variety of different scoring situations.
