Java/J2ee Technical Architect Stamford, CT We are seeking a hands-on J2EE Technical Architect to be a part of our client-facing team of experts focused on customer satisfaction, execution and delivery. This is an excellent long term opportunity for a highly motivated professional with demonstrated architecture and design skills to provide technical leadership to an offshore development team responsible for implementing Portal applications. An ideal candidate should have hands-on Java and J2EE development experience with sound understanding of various architectures, design patterns and tools. Also needed is proficiency in JSF & portal development including JSR168, JSR286 portlets. A good understanding of infrastructure configuration, optimization and its challenges would be beneficial. Candidates should possess commitment to excellence and high standards with demonstrated ability to effectively manage priorities, adapt well to changing priorities while remaining flexible and enthusiastic will be highly considered. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ø Responsible for participating in technical discussions related to the project, develop and review Component, Sequence and Class diagrams and resolve the problems faced by developers. Ø Perform Code reviews ensuring compliance with Coding Standards, design patterns and secure coding guidelines. Ø Provide architecture and solution consulting. Ø Effectively communicate project progress on a regular basis and with frequency to all stakeholders. Ø Negotiate, set, and manage stakeholder’s expectations and communicate project risks, and issues. Ø Troubleshoot the issues in production that developers are unable to resolve. Ø Interact with other teams for implementing the interfaces. REQUIRED SKILLS: Ø Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years of overall IT experience Ø Must have 3 – 5 years of project experience in a leadership role. Ø Hands on Java, J2EE coding experience. Ø Experience writing multithreaded applications. Ø Clear understanding of personalization, internationalization and localization. Ø Minimum 1 year of experience in portal development including JSR168 and JSR286 portlets. Ø JSF development experience. Ø Experience with performance testing and tuning methodologies. Ø Should have considerable experience in triaging production issues and should be flexible to offer on-call support during off hours/weekends for critical production issues. Ø Strong designing and planning skills. Experience in leveraging existing and new infrastructure from scalability and performance standpoint. Ø Experience working in a corporate IT support environment. Ø Proactive in identifying issues before their impact in production. Ø Evidence of broad customer service delivery and confidence to drive initiatives. Ø Candidate should be able to work with offshore teams and 3rd party teams. Ø Outstanding written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ø Strong organizational, problem solving and advanced analytical skills are a must. DESIRED SKILLS: The following are not required , but considered a plus. Ø PMI certification or other industry standard project management certifications. Education Requirement : Bachelors Degree, or equivalent work experience, in Computer Science or related field preferred.
