This VET- Veterinary- VET Technician Position Features:Job in Bosra, Iraq. Overseas job and they will be gone for 1 year possibly longer. They will pay 100% travel, they will get 50 days vacation and DBA (disability benefits), no clearance needed, just a background and drug test. They will provide housing and meals. They have a full time Vet on staff, this is a Vet Technician.The veterinary technician may give medications and perform routine examinations. They may also analyze canines and record information about their diet, food intake, weight, medications and signs of pain. At times, veterinary tech may vaccinate new canines or euthanize ill or injured canines. This position will also test the canines for diseases and inoculate against diseases and disorders and will advise handlers about sanitary measures, feeding, and general care to promote health of the animals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:"Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with associates, trainers and handlers."Ability to interact with handlers and associates in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner."Ability to utilize basic office equipment (i.e. fax, copier, telephone, computer, e-mail, and pager)"Ability to problem-solve using all available resources."Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint."Ability to read and write effectively."Ability to work in extreme temperatures."Ability to travel and live overseas."Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.JOB TASKS:"Examine animals to detect nature of diseases or injuries."Under supervision and guidance from the Veterinarian, treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery."Inoculate animals against various diseases such as rabies and distemper."Collect body tissue, feces, blood, urine, or other body fluids for examination and analysis."Advise handlers regarding sanitary, feeding, and general care necessary to promote health of animals.
