3rd Shift System Administrator Rtp, NC Technisource is looking for a System Administrator for 3rd shift in RTP, NC for a long term contract opportunity with possible extension. *** MUST be legally eligible to work in the US without additional sponsorship. *** NO third party / corp2corp / subcontractors *** MUST be onsite (no remote / telecommute) General Description: The candidate will be involved in day to day support of a remote testing lab, Linux, , virtual solutions, Windows, in addition to basic networking support. The candidate will also be involved in contingency planning, task scheduling, documenting, application upgrades and communications. Participation in these activities involves both the immediate team as well as broader global, cross-functional client groups. Minimum Skill Requirement: Typically requires 5 years of related experience. Experience with Cisco equipment CCNA Recommended. Intermediate to strong Windows and Linux skills (Red Hat and Microsoft Certifications a plus) Intermediate level knowledge of Linux systems. Familiar with kickstart and support of Linux based operating systems. Red Hat certifications a plus (RHCSA/RHCE). Support level expertise for Windows Operating Systems General scripting knowledge Strong communications skills Desired Skill Set: Self-starter with minimum of 5+ years experience Experience with VMware virtual systems Experience supporting large scale Linux and Windows infrastructure Good organizational and time management skill Excellent problem solving skills a must Excellent communication and teamwork skills Good customer service skills Good research skills Dedication. General network and Cisco IOS knowledge Extensive knowledge of IPv4 sub-netting Basic Layer 2 knowledge: Spanning Tree, VLANs, Trunks, VTP, EtherChannels Basic knowledge of the routing protocols: BGP, MPLS, GLBP Ability to setup, reconfigure, and test physical network topologies (physical rack and stack required) Ability to diagnose and repair network problems
