Desktop Support Technician
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Desktop Support Technician provides desktop support for the local office and some remote offices. This person will provide remediation of desktop computer issues, installation of desktop computers, provide support to the user (hardware and software issues), and resolve tickets in the incident management system. Additionally this position works on various project and deployments. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide technical support for desktop users (on site and remote locations) - hardware and software * Problem resolution of moderate to high complexity issues - escalate only very complex problems * Troubleshoot application issues - viruses, hard disk diagnostics and file repair, data encryption, and SMS reporting * Troubleshoot printers/copier and interfaces * Incident management system - track and resolve incidents and requests * Lead/work on general and technical projects as needed * Perform a variety of support activities - including inventory and vendor coordination * Be knowledgeable about/apply company policies to customer requests * Work overtime hours, weekend hours and on-call hours as required QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor’s Degree preferred * 3+ years experience configuring, installing, troubleshooting and repairing printers, PC and laptops, and supporting mobile devices * Must have excellent customer service skills, communication skills and be a team player * Must be highly skilled at assessing issues and needs of the user and establishing a priority for the tasks at hand Technical knowledge: Windows XP/7, Microsoft Office 2003/2007 products, Market Data Applications (ie. Bloomberg) and telephony systems. Preferred technical knowledge of RSA, Citrix, BAS or Good For Enterprise.
