Position: Senior Engineering QA Analyst Location: Reston, VA Duration: 12 Months ***Only on W2/1099*** Description: Develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for the network and IP Telephony engineering services within the organization. This will include writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, systems configurations, bill-of-materials, and operations systems. The Senior Engineering QA Analyst will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to ensure customer and process driven quality key performance indicators. Position and Responsibilities: Develop and establish quality assurance measures and testing standards for new systems or services, and/or enhancements to existing systems or services throughout their development lifecycles. Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization. Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new service or system under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality. Conduct internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards for systems or service development, integration, and system performance, and corresponding documentation. Create and execute test plans and scripts that will determine if systems or services perform according to specifications. Ensure that testing activities allow systems or services to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues. Collaborate with engineering personnel in testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods. Make recommendations for improvement of systems or services to engineers and engineering managers. Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to engineering managers. Assist in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies. Participate in developing, distributing, and coordinating in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or services. Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices. Requirements and Qualifications: Degree in software engineering, computer science, or business administration or equivalent work experiences a plus. 4+ years direct experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of quality assurance standards for engineering? Especially for networking, telecommunications, and IP Telephony systems and services. Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies. Experience with MS Office VBA scripts a definite plus? Especially Excel. Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts. Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities. Experience with statistical reporting and analysis. Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to Agile project-based work structures. Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user- friendly language. Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
