Electrical Engineer
Sitec are currently looking to recruit a Electrical Engineer for a nuclear MoD establishment based in Reading. Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment. Job/Role Purpose - Delivery of electrical engineering solutions to provide diagnostics, gas systems and firing and timing systems for the UK Epure Experimental Equipment scope of work. - Manage technical progress of designs and provide reports on project progress where required. - A member of the Epure Engineering Team reporting to and supporting the UK Epure Engineering Manager and France based SEM. Key Accountabilities - Generation of appropriate design deliverables - Contribution to inter-discipline tasks such as document checks and reviews, and inter-discipline support/liaison - Active liaison with relevant Design Authority specialists to obtain formal and informal support and approvals Key Responsibilities - Provide engineering support for the client to supply designs and deliverables for experimental equipment to support Hydrodynamic experiments that will be conducted in France in the Epure facility. - Responsible for providing (UK and French) engineering deliverables to be produced by the Design Houses, contractors and internal resource. - Review and comment/approve contractors submissions - Provision of requirements to contractors and ensuring the design meets the operational/design requirements, and incorporates Safety Functional Requirements. Qualifications - Degree or equivalent in electrical/control systems Engineering, or other Technical discipline if supporting knowledge and experience supports required expertise and intended areas of work. - Design experience of electrical systems preferably within the nuclear industry in particular. Knowledge - Client design process maps. - Design integration with C&I and mechanical disciplines to produce high speed diagnostic designs. - French design standards for electrical equipment. - Client explosive trials process would be advantageous. Experience - Supervision of consultants and design houses. - Good experience in relevant electrical/control systems engineering. - Design integration with C&I and mechanical disciplines to produce high speed diagnostic designs. - Producing nuclear compliant designs that can be adequately justified by Assurance justifications. - Working in a multi-cultural, multi-national team. Skills - Good interpersonal and communication skills to ensure effective communication to all levels to both internal and external personnel. - Good technical skills including problem solving and decision making. - IT skills (Word Processing / Spreadsheet / Presentation).
