Solution Architect
Title: Solution Architect Location: London Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Identify, define and design services within the defined framework of Service Orientated Architecture (SOA), 2. Work with other architects to build solutions within the logical and physical layers, 3. Contribute to the evolution and maturity of defined SOA framework and the adoption of the framework throughout the organization 4. Create and Review Service Specs, WSDL and schema designs. 5. Clarify Functional, Technical and Design related queries from the offshore team. Knowledge required . Service-orientated concepts . XML standards, for instance XML Schema and XSLT . Business process models . Use case specifications . An appreciation of the importance of structured development methodologies, such as Rational Unified Process . Krutchen 4+1 architecture view . Standards produced by the W3C, OASIS, OMG and others . Unified Modelling Language . Software configuration management Skills required . Hands on technology either in Java or .net (no project coordination). . TOGAF or Sun Certified Enterprise Architect or Federated Enterprise Architecture Certification would be an added advantage. . Previous experience of the production of services in a service orientated architecture through all of the delivery phases of analysis, design, development, test and deployment. . Able to describe and communicate technical design in written form using English, UML, XML and other languages . Able to produce documentation at various levels (from very high-level down to very detailed level) for audiences of differing capabilities and in using various tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, XMLSpy, Visio) . Able to research and utilise architectural patterns in the production of designs . Able to use different architecture tools and integrated development environments. Functional Competency . Good experience in UK Television / Media industry . Strong and demonstrable compentence in written and oral English. . Understanding of and the ability to conform to the requirements of the quality assurance standards . Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences by being able to vary the pitch and viewpoint of the subject matter. . Ability to review and provide criticism of technical documents in a structured manner using industry practices. . Able to run collaborations (workshops and meetings) to interpret requirements, present and review technical architectures and designs. . Good interpersonal and mediation skills and willingness to lead and be led. . Good personal organisation, productivity and time-management skills . Demonstrable enthusiasm about technology, innovation and problem solving . Able and willing to work with a geographically dispersed team
