Setting Up Prototype Web Servie & Client w. DB access IIS ./. Tomcat
Small Project to evaluate options and setting up prototypes / 3 examples. a) Web Service Client C++ (in VS 2010) to call a webservice The client running under Win7 and (if possible) under XP & b1) Web Service ASP / VB.net & b2) Web Service Tomcat / Java returning data from a table (as list of records). a) Webserice call from client: send FIeld name and table t1 (fields: trnr) b) Webservice: reading SQL DB (say MS SQL or Postgres) table t2 (K: name , trnr, F: value) and return table t3 (fields trnr, value) and Field (return = "OK" if a vlaue was found in t2). Deliverable: Evaluate best technique for C++ client (for VS2010!, License type) Compare Java / VB.net approach Coding for C++ VS2010 for the client Coding for .net ready to deploy the prototype / example on IIS Coding for Java ready to deploy the prototype / example on tomcat This is (as you can see) a starting point, more projects may come. As Milestones we could set: (1) = a) & b1) Websevice in ASP/ VB.net and C++ client (VS2010) (2) = b2) Webservice in Java / Tomcat (3) C++ client (VS2010) calling Java/Tomcat-Webservice - potential adjustments You would need IIS and Apache Environmant on your side for development. We have a test box. Keywords: Basic, Programming, C, ASP, Visual, Java, .NET
