The Alexander Technology Group is currently looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to fill a contract to hire position for one of our clients in the Lexington, MA area. Responsibilities: - Designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of Microsoft Operating Systems - Troubleshoots escalated server, software and hardware issues. - Recommends, schedules and implements system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs. - Analyzes and understands business requirements to insure optimal server architecture and infrastructure are put in place to assure high availability and recoverability. - Monitors server environment for proactive assessment of performance and identification of potential resource bottlenecks. - Participates in project activities and planning as needed. - Develops and maintains system tools and scripts for automating or simplifying system administration tasks. Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of VMware VSphere 5-7 years of IT work experience having a high level of expertise in multiple system environments; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system is essential Extensive knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware Extensive knowledge of Disaster Recovery practices and concepts Working knowledge of system design methods and techniques Working knowledge of TCP/IP General knowledge of storage management Technologies: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008 32 and 64 bit Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 VMware virtualization server and desktop EMC technologies including Networker, Avamar, CLARiiON, Data Domain, and Recover Point, Symmetrix VMAX Cisco Networking If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity please contact your ATG recruiter Brian Ledoux at 781-404-4320.
