The purpose of this project is to clarify and document the specifications for modifications to create a private members area on a WordPress web site. The project does not require that the modifications be implemented at this time. The project outputs will be used to seek tenders to complete the work and to hold the successful bidder accountable for outcomes. The specifications relate to a private members area for collaboration and information sharing on a Wordpress web site. The private area will have forum and document library features as well as lists of members in several classes. There are no member levels and members do not pay to belong however some forum topics and documents are reserved for a subset of members. The attached document describes the features of the proposed site in detail. This document is the starting point for the work required, however I expect you to be able to use your skill and knowledge to make the specifications much more concrete. You will likely need to ask questions about what solutions are acceptable in the course of doing this project. For the current project I need someone familiar with the capabilities of Wordpress (off the shelf, plugins eg bbPress and/or custom modifications) to specify exactly what the developer will need to do to meet our needs. I expect that this work will require 2-3 iterations. You will do a first draft, I will comment and you will make changes to clarify. Then the client will comment and you will make further changes to the documentation. Unless I have underestimated the complexity of this work, if you know what you are doing you should be able to do the first draft in 1-2 hours + time to seek further info from me as required, and each each subsequent version in a further hour.
