We are seeking Front End Web Developers on a contract to hire basis for our client in Reston, VA. You will work on all public sites for this global company using cutting edge technolgoy such as: HTML, Javascript, CSS, jqurey, and some mobile platforms. Position Summary: Analyzes complex business requirements and translates them into technical specifications for implementation to web applications. Manages successful completion of small to medium size cross-functional projects through design, testing and implementation. Provides technical expertise in evaluating and developing creative web solutions that are cost effective and meet user requirements and business needs. Ensures website remains consistent with organizational goals by adhering to development standards. Leads system and user acceptance testing and implementation of enhancements and fixes. Develops, tests, maintains, and supports high-performance, innovative web-based applications. Responsibilities include managing design, development, testing (Complete SDLC) of e-commerce, self-managing, community, related websites. - Proven experience in human factors sitedev concepting for highly interactive designed web sites. -Minimum 8 years of experience in web development. -BS Degree in computer science or equivalent. -Experience in programming Skillset: -Expert on all things related to client-side programming:HTML5 a must), CSS (includes CSS 3), Java Script, and web browser nuances. -(X)HTML expert -CSS 2.0/3.0 expert (Understand/Code/troubleshoot heavily used CSS (includes CSS3) applications and also cross browser compliance) -Java Script expert (Understand/Code /troubleshoot heavily used java script applications; mobile jquery; objects) - Expert in using jQuery is a must and also good understanding of other Java Script libraries - Ajax/JSON/DHTML - PHP - Java/JSP/JavaBean basic knowledge and understanding - Good understanding of flash, action script. - Knowledge of eComm applications. - Understanding of 508 compliance (including degradable coding practices) - Strong understanding of client/server code integration, including best practices in what functionality should run where general understanding of server-side programming practices and n-tiered architecture. - Ability to think outside of the box and to adapt quickly to change. -Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage your time across multiple projects. -General understanding of website design and information architecture -Ability to create/modify/review the technical design documents. Qualifications 8+ proven hands-on years in the following: - XSL/XSLT hands-on scripting of high-end commerce/transaction oriented web sites. - Developing and maintaining highly interactivce designed web sites via structured scripting languages (XML) for parsing/presenting the front-end layer of web painteractive designs. - Coding in a Javascript oriented env with solid expertise in designing/architecting ajax oriented user-experiences. - HTML5 - CSS3 - HTML - Strong hands-on use and understanding of AlFresco CMS platform - 8+ years in resolving browser/front-end issues and defect-resolution coding. - Ability to work independently as a senior professionaly and capable of working nights and weekends when necessary as it pertains to web projects and web releases alongside of the rest of the teams.
