Position: Hadoop Admin Location: Phoenix, AZ Duration: 6+Months Job Description Administer and support Hadoop clusters (including HBase). Analyze system and application architecture to ensure that all functional and non:functional requirements are met Evaluate and select tools and technologies needed for efficient support of the systems. Automate common maintenance, installation Jobs Monitor cluster job performance and capacity planning Collaborate with cross:functional teams to ensure that applications are properly tested, configured, and deployed. Adapt configuration management tools for the needs of the Operations teams. Excellent knowledge of Hadoop architecture and administration and support. Proficient in Unix, Linux, Windows operating systems Proficient in Python and shell scripting (e.g. ksh, tcsh) Strong knowledge of networking Working knowledge of JBoss Application Server, Tomcat and Linux (RedHat). Ability to learn, apply and explain new tools and technologies quickly. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
