The consultant is proactive as well as reactive: they not only address the prospects' primary opportunity or issue driving interest, but they also learn about the customer and anticipate the potential opportunities and seek ways to differentiate on all dimensions. When further expert resources are required, the consultant is responsible for recommending and/or partnering with internal and partner resources. By asking the right questions, proactively recommending appropriate applications that add value and bringing the right resources, the sales consultant will deliver both the maximum value for the customer and for the company. Since the consultant is a primary contact for customers, it is critical that they live the company values and brand in their interactions and deliver high quality customer experiences. Sales consultants are also key to providing ongoing feedback on how to improve the end-to-end customer experience and delivering that experience. Sales acumen: • Ability to ask the questions relevant to that prospect to uncover needs and qualify opportunities • Ability to build customer awareness of a broad set of potential uses • Experience actively managing and cultivating a prospects base • Experience managing the pipeline including ability to forecast and deliver to a target Customer Delight: • Ability to identify and address the prospects needs and/or connect the prospect with the appropriate resource to meet their needs • Ability to find new ways to make the customer experience great and adopts and share what works well • Ability to demonstrate the product and how it can be used to meet and exceed the prospect's requirements • Educating customers to enable their success and growth in the product and with the company Skills: • Persuasive • Self-directed: exercises judgment within generally defined processes and procedures to determine appropriate action • Strong time and workflow management: operate effectively in a relatively non-proscriptive environment • Technical acumen: can learn to demonstrate a moderately technical product to prospects • Diligence in contacting prospects to deliver optimal value Experience: • 2-3 years sales experience, in a professional or consultative business software or services environment • Database experience a plus Keywords: Sales
