General Description of Responsibility Houston based company seeking an expert Senior Java Developer to develop applications and oversee the execution of software development from the conceptual, testing and final delivery phases.   This company has a medium size IT department that moves at a very rapid pace.  They need somone who can come in and own the Java Dvelopment portion of this project.    This position will be responsible for mentoring other developers and will serve as a key member of the application development team working closely with other local and remote developers and architects in the strategic planning and delivery of enterprise applications for a global user community.   Specific Responsibilities -Analyze engineering requirements and build action plans -Reviewing Specifications; Architecting and Implementing Solutions in Java -Develop software solutions to improve quality of java applications -Monitor and improve software development life cycle automation -Application programming and unit testing of assigned modules within the systems solution (this would encompass both front-end and back-end coding, design and performance tuning) -Designing and Implementing Automated Test Analysis - Execute test cases and record bugs/defects -Deploy the project within different environments -Participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and selection of hardware and software solutions -Responsible for project documentation, status reporting and presentation -Learn how to use new tools, open source or otherwise. This includes prototyping, reading forums, self-study, or otherwise coming up-to-speed with new technologies.   Qualifications -At least 7-10 years of experience in JAVA development, Spring/Hibernate,  JavaScript and AJAX required - Experience with ANT and Maven continuous integration servers and firm understanding of build and release management best practices -  Proficient in building unit tests especially using JUnit - Expertise in mature development processes including the use of source control systems like Subversion and CVS -Ability to work directly and collaboratively with Quality Assurance (QA) test teams to identify and troubleshoot issues to final resolution -Experience in developing reports using Jasper OR iReports. -Experience in developing Watir scripts for automated testing.
