We work with manufacturing companies, public utilities, parts suppliers, and everything in between. At Hazel’s we provide point-to-point courier and delivery services, scheduled same day deliveries, expedited “hot shot” deliveries, and over-the-road long-distance transport services. We also offer air freight forwarding services and air charters when ground transport isn’t fast enough for time-critical deliveries. Sales Rep Job Description Hazel’s is interested in using 2 Independent Contractors (1099) Regional Sales Representatives in the Houston area and potentially 1 in the Dallas area. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a sales capacity in the freight industry and will bring their own existing book of business to the table. Compensation is commission-based. We are willing to compensate you for any business you bring with you upon hire. Sales Reps will receive the personal assistance of the Business Owner in closing new accounts, but will receive full-credit for all new accounts. This role is targeted at bringing in new accounts. Hazel’s provides a wide array of services for you to pitch to customers including: · Point-to-Point Courier Service · Hot Shots throughout the U.S. · Scheduled same day deliveries · Over-the-road long-distance trucking (nationwide) · Air Freight Support · Air Charter Service Vehicles include: · Cars · Half-Ton, ¾ Ton, and 1 Ton Pickup Trucks · Cargo Vans · 8’-16’ Stakebeds · 25’ to 40’ Trailers · Tractors with 53’ flatbeds and vans Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: · Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on new potential accounts · Periodically call on existing accounts to expand share of customer’s freight spend · Assist management in structuring local marketing campaigns, direct mailings, and advertising to improve sales · Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses. · Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc. · Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating resul ts and competitive developments · Work with Dispatch office when necessary to resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; makin g recommendations to management · Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies · Provide historical records and maintain records on area and customer sales · Contributes to team effo rt by accompli shing related results as needed Summary of Experience and Education · High school diploma or GED required · Associates and/or Bachelor Degree Preferred · Minimum five years industry sales experience may be substituted for college degree Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Customer Service · Meeting Sales Goals · Closing Skills · Territory Management · Prospecting Skills · Negotiation · Self-Confidence · Product Knowledge · Presentation Skills · Client Relationships · Motivation for Sales
