Our client is seeking a DB2 Database Administrator on the AS/400 to join and lead a small team of developers. The project is with a large insurance company in West Houston, TX. *This is a contract or contract to hire opportunity but could turn into a permanent roll if eligible to work as a W-2 employee. (h1candidates ok) Skills Required: - DB2 DBA on AS/400 **Must have strong DBA background on AS400** - Must be able to understand terminology on DB2 - structure on AS400 - Must possess strong DBA knowledge of DB2 on triggers and stored procedures - Strong knowledge of tuning, data performance and trouble shooting on DB2 (Currently using Job Watcher for issues- so any knowledge or exp with is a plus) - Experience with Data Performance and monitoring - Experience with latest Version of AS/400 *Must have solid DBA experience, excellent communication skills as you will be interacting with many different teams and upper management.
