Cnc Craftsman-machinist - Model Maker Evansville, IN Our Indiana client is looking to fill a position as a CNC Craftsman-Machinist to work in their Model Maker lab facility. This is a minimum 6 month contract that could lead to a direct hire position for the right candidate. TOP 3 SKILLS needed for this position: 1.Can operate powered and precision machines such as lathes, mills, welders, drill presses, grinders, saws, etc. 2.Basic PC skills 3.CNC programming and machining What You Will Do: Construct and assemble prototype parts and refrigeration products. Work from engineering drawings and computer models (specifically Pro-Engineer). Operate CNC controlled machines including programming, set-up, and proper operating parameters required to safely operate this equipment. Bench work including: drilling, tapping, filing, assembly, and inspection of components for form, fit, and function. What You Need To Succeed Ability to set up and operate a variety of processes, including CNC mills, CNC lasers, CNC press brakes, vacuum formers, stamping presses, and other rapid prototyping processes to produce high quality solid model prototypes from a variety of materials. Proficient in blueprint reading, assembly drawings, shop math, geometry, and use of precision measuring instruments. Ability to set up, operate, and maintain all Model Shop machine tools in a proper and safe operating manner. Ability to work from written or verbal instructions. Should be a Journeyman Model Maker, Tool and Die Maker, or have a minimum 5 years of equivalent experience in a similar field. Software knowledge required: Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) CAM softwares such as PRO-E, Mastercam, Solidworks, etc.. Required years of experience: Willing to train if Degreed or Journeyman. Preferred degree and/or training: Minimum of 2 year Technical Degree or completion of an apprenticeship
