Technical Support Specialist
Position Title: Technical Support Specialist Years of experience required: 1 3rd shift (midnight - 8:30am) working one weekend morning (either Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday). Job responsibility: This position is responsible for providing timely and accurate first line support for the service desk via phone calls, Email, Remedy tickets and internal requests which all must be answered/resolved by predetermined deadlines. The equipment that is supported would include but not limited to wireless Switches, wireless Access points, mobile devices, VoIP phones, EPC, RFID, scanners and 2 way radios. The ideal candidate would already have experience and knowledge of wireless, mobile clients and networking. Training will be provided for knowledge that the candidate is lacking. Requirements: Must have at least 1-3 years of Call Center experience. Responsible for troubleshooting and explaining complex technical situations to both more and less experienced personnel in a clear and understandable fashion via phone and Email. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work with ambiguous situations, including with upset customers in a professional manner while maintaining an emphasis on quality. Must ask probing questions and document appropriate information. Must stay current on all policies, procedures and service offerings that affect both out internal and external customers. Must have strong diagnostic and problem solving skills. Always willing to find root cause. Be willing to assist users and co-workers with problem solving work as a team. Promote a positive image of product, technical skills and company commitment to provide quality service. Be able to learn new technology, equipment and processes. Quickly identify trends and escalate. Good at producing documentation. Must have and use common sense. Skills that are a plus: Multi-lingual fluency huge plus (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese) Networking or wireless experience/certifications Pearl/Android programming experience Remedy experience Synectics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
