Technical Instructional Developer Job Requirements Job Summary: Must live in the Southfield, MI area as the position works in Southfield. Must have experience in the Telecommunications Industry. Technical Instructional Designer with Instructional Design experience and working knowledge of designing, developing, documenting, creating, testing and modifying eLearning programs using specialized tools such as Flash, Captivate and other multimedia tools. The Technical Instructional Designer is responsible for the development of innovative and engaging online training content that incorporates mixed media such as graphics, animation, text, audio and video using a working knowledge of instructional design and development software tools and methodologies. The Technical Instructional Designer must have experience developing storyboards, courseware materials, supplemental materials, such as job aids, glossaries, guides, etc... Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and able to meet aggressive deadlines. The Technical Instructional Designer must have experience working with remote teams and be willing and able to communicate with Project Manager, team and client. The Technic al Designer must have good documentation skills. Duties and Responsibilities: - Primary responsibility is to conduct Needs Analysis, develop storyboard, develop courseware content and execution of eLearning course. - Analyze client source content, job tasks and process flows to identify learning objectives and appropriate instructional strategies. - Utilize a broad range of interactive, creative and intuitive instructional methods, including but not limited to simulations, demonstrations and assessments - Make training recommendations consistent with established development time frames and budget. - Design and develop learning materials - Facilitator Guides, Participant Guides, PowerPoint presentations, Quick Reference Guides, Job Aids, Storyboards, and/or Audio/Video scripts. - Design and develop e-Learning Storyboards to precisely communicate instructional strategies to clients - Analyze input from Subject Matter Experts (SME's) to create and modify instructional materials. - Organize, perform and oversee Quality Assurance of final materials to ensure concepts are properly developed. - Conduct Alpha and Beta Client Reviews in preparation for Gold presentation. - Design and Develop eLearning courseware for a Telecommunications client Skills/Qualifications: - Knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, human behavior and performance, methods for curriculum and training design, and the measurement of training effectiveness. - Excellent written and verbal communication, with solid knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. - Advanced Knowledge of common e-Learning development software - Captivate 5 & 5.5 - Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to support instructional design. - Ability to analyze source content and extract relevant information for instructional purposes. - Highly effective time and project management skills. - Excellent proofreading and editing skills. - Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. - Ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate and implement multiple projects. - Ability to identify problems, risks and issues, mediate and develop solutions, and implement a course of action. - Ability to effectively communicate with clients and Subject Matter Experts. Credentials and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or equivalent work experience. - Demonstrated experience producing high-quality instructional materials in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. - e-Learning design and development experience required. - Ability to use advanced techniques and/or programming in the development of eLearning a plus. - Must have current experience in ALL of the areas listed below: - Instructional Design experience - Instructional Technology experience - 5+ years with Captivate - 5+ years developing eLearning courseware - Must be able to provide work samples Our course developer will work on a project from request to implementation.
