An immediately recognisable high end retail business currently require a qualified Financial Controller for a 12 month maternity cover contract. It is essential that all candidates have extensive team management experience as you will have four direct reports and will manage a wider finance team of circa 30 heads. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller you key responsibilities will include: * Managing the Financial Accounting team (UK business units and group shared service functions) * Overseeing the Accounts Payable function for the group (Group AP Manager direct report) * Overseeing the Finance Systems, working with the Systems Accountant * Ensuring the full completion and sign off of all monthly supporting schedules and reconciliations * Assisting with production of year end statutory accounts and dealing with external auditors * Responsible for Internal Controls documentation and testing * Compliance - oversee completion of UK tax returns, UK & Euro VAT submissions * Payment run approval * Ability to a take a flexible approach to responsibilities during a period of rapid growth and change in the team All applicants must have previous experience as a Financial Controller in a complex international company.
