Details:- Data Modeler Location: - Newark ,NJ Duration: - 18+ months Required Experience: To successfully deliver a typical project in this senior role, the following skill set will be required: . 7+ years experience using data modeling tools such as ERWIN or ER Studio, or Rational Data Architect supporting IT dev projects. · 5+ years of SQL experience · 5+ years working as an IT consultant, business/technical analyst, DBA or BI data modeler · An in-depth understanding of the Data Life Cycle data modeling concept and principles · Must have an in-depth understanding of dimensional modeling concepts · Experience with storing metadata/data dictionaries within formal modeling tool · Must have in-depth experience on at least one major RDBMS platform (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server) · Strong familiarity with integration tools such as Informatica · Exposure to Master Data Management solutions · Experience in the Health care Insurance industry is preferred · Strong Business acumen highly desirable . Must be able to work independently or as part of a team to develop the required solution Excellent written and verbal communications skills will be required for customer and team interaction Essential Functions/Responsibilities: · Drive design of data structures · Reverse Engineer source system structures for model sourcing/landing · Create Conceptual/Logical/Physical models for staging and data integration · Create Conceptual/Logical/Physical models for reporting · Drive creation of Enterprise view (integration) of data domains (Product, Provider, Member, Pricing) · Drive model management and version control of all data models. · Facilitate creation/migration of data objects (DDL) across Development /QA/Production · Drive metadata capture through data modeling application · Establish Standards, Guidelines, and Best Practices around data modeling effort · Provide hands-on data modeling / development support for a variety of assignments and have a quick grasp of new business environments · Conduct Model reviews with project team members · Publish and communicate models to various IT and User based teams · Develop data movement requirements/technical specifications into and across EDW layers · Collaborate with BI team to create data structures for reporting · Collaborate with ETL team to create data structures that facilitate data integration · Collaborate with DBA team to perform volumetrics and optimize data structures for data integration and reporting · Participate in requirements definition, analysis, and design of data related solutions · In addition the role will involve being responsible for defining and managing governance models, policies and procedures, data cleansing, migration, retention and the strategy and tasks for the decommissioning of legacy systems. · Strong communication skills in order to effectively communicate with and make strategic recommendations to Sr. and Executive Management as well as all levels of internal/external service partners.
