Our client a leading global Aerospace and Defence Engineering and Manufacturing company are seeking a Materials Manager to undertake a six month contract assignment to be based in Wimborne. Champion for SIOP (Sales and Inventory Operations Planning), ensuring achievable plans are set through MPS (Master Production Scheduling). Optimising Inventory, ensuring best practice Material Planning processes are adopted and embedded. Controlling demand, managing logistics and transportation, ensuring strong ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Governance and system health. Key Deliverables Manages the Master Production Schedule ensuring that an achievable plan is always in place that takes into consideration both materials and capacities Responsible for ensuring that ERP planning parameters are maintained in accordance with Company policy and that these parameters are reviewed to optimise operating costs and achieve customer satisfaction Co-ordinates the efficient movement of materials by the most cost effective method Identify and drive improvement initiative to reduce costs and improve on time delivery, work closely with other sites within the group to share best practice and develop synergies Manage direct reports - MPS Controller, Product Analyst and Stores/Despatch Supervisor Required Skills/Experience Proven experience in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Good working knowledge of aerospace and defence industry Demonstrable experience of strategic input into a department and/or function Advanced knowledge in the skills, tools, techniques, disciplines and processes of Materials Management Strong knowledge and practitioner of Lean and improvement techniques Thorough knowledge of ERP Alexander Mann Solutions, a Recruitment Process Outsourcing Company, may in the delivery of some of its services be deemed to operate as an Employment Agency or an Employment Business.
