Network Security Engineer
We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to work on-site in Irving, Texas for our direct client. Global Network Services is dedicated to the overall global network engineering and support for the company within Enterprise Infrastructure. The Internetwork Engineering within the Global Network Services team is primarily responsible for engineering services for our customers including: Security Protection, DNS, Application Traffic Management, Customer Connectivity, Remote Access, etc. The network security engineer will be responsible for the overall network security design with a focus on the control sets for the protection of the company. This will include the auditing and engineering of solutions as well as environments that allow us to meet high customer demands within a highly complex infrastructure. Primary focus will be on the controls and mechanisms to ensure a secure environment as it relates to attestation of those controls against a baseline. Typical additional duties will include designing new enterprise network solutions, enabling new customer connectivity, securing the environment through tactical change management, as well as working in a cross-organizational fashion to consult and enable these services. Primary Responsibilities · Auditing of internal environments against baseline control set · Manage and Design highly complex firewall and network environments · Security Engineering through use of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateway and other network security devices to provide defense-in-depth protection from cyber security threats · Engineering customer connectivity/onboarding based on requirements o Consulting with customers on best practices and options o Business to Customer as well as Business to Business Connectivity (Internet, Extranet, Market Data, MPLS, and VPN connections) · Documentation of complex technologies and topologies based on security based practices · Management of life cycle for various technologies within the space (includes vendor management) Qualifications Education and Experience · 5+ years within the network security space · 7+ years within the network engineering environment Skills and Knowledge · Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, including application knowledge · Knowledge of the audit process · Network Security skills: Firewall, IPS/IDS, Malware Detection, Webfiltering, etc. · Network Engineering and Troubleshooting skills o Routed/Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, VPNs o Application Traffic Analysis · Previous experience with attack mitigation, design concepts, and data protection · Enterprise Security Policy knowledge and best practices · Skilled verbally and with presenting to senior team members on strategic idea innovations · Ability to work in a team environment · Development/Automation experience a plus · Security Certifications a plus
