GENERAL SUMMARY: Laureate, Inc. is currently seeking a highly qualified User Interface Designer with a portfolio of outstanding conceptual design, information architecture, interaction design and visual design skills for interactive web applications and websites. Our team delivers high-quality, scalable, hosted, student-facing learning applications to scholars around the world. We are a multi-disciplinary team that creates high-quality business solutions for mobile, web and desktop platforms. The UI Designer will collaborate with other designers, application developers and other domain experts to create dynamic, user-friendly solutions that people look forward to using every day. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ' Generate low-fidelity and high-fidelity mockups of proposed designs that fulfill product requirements in innovative ways ' Creates compelling screen imagery, including icons, content flow and navigation elements ' Produces rapid design iterations based on user feedback, technical constraints and market dynamics ' Develops presentations ' storyboards, prototypes and mock-ups ' that effectively communicate the vision to stakeholders inside and outside of the organization ' Participate in End-user and Domain Expert research, including focus groups, survey and prototype testing ' Adheres to standards and best practices for UI Design that reflects a user-centered orientation and excellent visual design ' Is an active team member for design efforts, interacting with business and development teams ' Researches and recommends new UI techniques and technologies ' Collaborates with UX and UI Design staff in story development and improvements in visual design ' Stays current on targeted platform functionality and enhancements EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field. ' 3+ years of experience in UI design for web, mobile and/or desktop applications ' Portfolio showcasing UI excellence, creativity, depth of thought, and engineering feasibility, developed from the ground up ' Experience in Interface Design, Interaction Design and/or Information Architecture is preferred ' Demonstrated proficiency with modern design tools such as OmniGraffle, Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, and Illustrator is a must ' Proficiency with Dreamweaver is a plus ' Excellent problem-solving skills and a self-starting attitude are essential. ' Excellent analytical and design skills are required.
