U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance 1 - Systems Engineer A BS degree in an engineering discipline with 4-6 years of related work experience or MS degree in an engineering discipline with 1-2 years of related work experience. 2 - Sr. Systems Engineer A BS degree in an engineering discipline with 7-9 years of related work experience; MS degree in an engineering discipline with 3 plus years of related work experience or A Ph.D. in an engineering discipline with 2 plus years of related work experience. *Prefer someone who has leadership skills in previous history *Prefer someone with experience in scheduling and/or cost estimation Job Description Summary : Perform systems engineering efforts on an EO/IR reconnaissance system. May contribute at any point in the product development life cycle: Develop systems concept, develop specifications, requirements flow down, development of design verification test plans, execution of test and review of test data. Participate in and contribute to various design and requirements reviews, development of and contribution to presentations for internal and external customers. Work with lead system engineers and chief engineers to assure program technical requirements are met and/or exceeded. May be asked to lead some subtasks and assure their completion. Should be knowledgeable and skilled with widely accepted systems engineering tools and processes. 1. Supports technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. 2. Analyzes all levels of total system product, including: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. 3. Supports planning of project work schedules to meet completion dates and technical specifications. 4. Investigates and utilizes state-of-the-art tools and/or engineering software in the performance of his/her assignments. 5. Supports the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost restraints. 6. May oversee the efforts of lower level engineers or technicians in assuring program success SKILLS 1. Analytical skills needed to analyze product requirements to recommend an appropriate design 2. Understanding of the product development life cycle 3. Ability to use mathematics and/or engineering models in concert with scientific principles and methods for system integration and/or problem resolution 4. Ability to contribute to proposals 5. Developing ability to lead technical teams 6. Defining the Concept of Operations for moderate complexity systems 7. Some Hardware Experience 8. Prefer experience with Algorithm 9. Prefer someone who has started or finished life cycle COMPETENCIES 1. Problem Solving 2. DOORS 3. MATLAB 4. Interpersonal effectiveness - The noise level is usually quiet in the office and production environments. - The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. - He/she must use hands to examine objects and operate equipment, and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Master's preferred.
