SIMNJP00013889 Software Engineer Location: Berkeley, CA Length: 6 Months If interested, please send resume to seva@ccsiinc.com Description: Performs complex design, implementation, and support of software for molecular diagnostics systems that integrate hardware, software and fluidic control and chemistry components Translates customers' needs and system level documentation to appropriate software engineering requirements Author functional and design specifications Conduct code reviews and unit testing Performs full range of standard software development work typical in the professional field Completes and presents reports of technical feasibility and development results Performs work according to the software quality process through the execution of module, subsystem and system software development, unit test and software integration procedures, including creation and maintenance of standard software documentation Represents the software development function as Core Team Leader / Member or Element Team Leader / Member on one or more projects Provides general guidance, mentors and trains support and/or professional staff Maintains primarily intra-organizational contacts, but may also be required to represent the company in projects with external vendors Qualifications: BS / BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; C / C++ programming ability Good communication skills, including experience writing technical documentation Excellent analytical / critical thinking skills Required Experience: 8+ years experience with product development in a regulated environment, including use of requirements management, defect tracking (e.g. Rational ClearQuest, and configuration management systems (e.g. Rational ClearCase) Strong knowledge of some or all of the following technologies: MFC, COM, ATL, STL, GUI, WIN32, XML, Visual C++, C++/C# on Windows, .NET, SQL, database design, web development Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable Preferred Knowledge / Experience: Significant experience in the development of software, including real-time, embedded applications, for commercially successful medical diagnostics instrumentation Familiarity with IEEE, CMMi, ISO, FDA or other design control quality processes as applicable to software development lifecycle Experience with various software development methodologies e.g. Spiral, Waterfall, Rapid prototyping and Agile Keywords: Information Technology
