Job Responsibilities Include: Coordinating complex production support activities for systems and subsystems to ensure the integrity of computer generated data Determining hardware problems and resolutions without impact to user processing Performing and maintaining complex automated operations procedures using appropriate software packages to improve department efficiency and quality Developing operations and maintenance schedules and procedures Responding to complex problems of users, rerunning or scheduling jobs, restoring files, resending reports, or resolving system issues Performing full range of standard work for the professional field Referring complex, unusual problems to others Identifying and resolving more complex problems and applying problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations Duties Include: Gathering, reviewing and analyzing data to better understand the environment and make recommendations to increase productivity and improve processes Preserving the integrity of the Production environment Reviewing and installing modifications to the environment following established standards and practices Preparing installation plans including backout and recovery procedures Troubleshooting abends and recommending solutions towards permanent remedies Investigating and resolving problems and operational issues across a variety of computing environments including online and batch applications Working with the programming staff to document the restart/rerun of batch jobs Training other Operations staff as needed Processing the records through the Change Management System Skills, Experience and Education Ability to work under pressure in critical situations Excellent IT technical and analytic skills required Good communication and people skills essential Ability to understand complex computer systems and be able to explain to other non-technical personnel Degree in a computer-related field desired Extensive knowledge of IBM JCL & Utilities and common 3rd party software packages including job scheduling, output distribution, and automation tools Experience with CA-AutoSys and/or Levi, Ray, & Shoup distribution software is desirable Experience with UNIX and Windows commands and utilities Experience with online applications, batch jobs, scripts, FTP, documentation, and databases Familiar with Office products such as Word, Excel, Visio, Access, Power Point and Project
