UNICEF NYHQ is in need of consultant services to: - Shoot and edit video and web material as needed for UNICEF priority communications. - Undertake UNICEF video production and post-production, including logging and digitizing source tapes, outputting final cuts to tape and web clips, audio editing and managing media for Final Cut Pro, After FX, Pro Tools and related technologies - Provide additional support to the Technical Director in overseeing all video post-production and equipment service, planning and related support to the IBIS broadcast operation. - Work on UNICEF NYHQ premises; all equipment and supplies will be provided - Maintain and oversee the Broadcast Unit equipment room and patch bay; vet old equipment, sending out broken equipment for repair and ordering new equipment / supplies; and oversee the operation of Studio 9, serve as principal HQ in-house videographer. Responsibilities: In consultation with the IBIS Assignment Manager and the New Media Technology Expert: - Video and Audio Editing - Edit video and web material as needed - Provide additional support to the Technical Director in overseeing all video post-production and equipment service, planning and related support to the IBIS broadcast operation. - Output final cuts to tape and web clips - Sound mix - Log and digitize source tapes as needed - Manage media programmes and related software - Provide source tapes as required - Troubleshoot technical problems - Serve as principal in-house videographer - Oversee maintenance of all audio/visual equipment in the B2 Studio, UNICEF House, including all pieces in equipment room, machine room and edit suites - Maintain inventory and check out systems for production equipment - Send malfunctioning equipment out for repair, buy new equipment needed for studio - Produce special audio and video projects for other departments - Serve as principal audio recording engineer for B2 Studio - Maintain audio hardware and software in B2 Studio - May be required to travel and/or work on weekends Qualifications or specialized knowledge/ experience required: - Extensive experience in radio and audio production - Ability to work in a variety of video and audio production styles (news, current affairs, advertising, corporate) - Ability to operate and support at a high level the video production, archiving, and editing equipment - Extensive experience shooting video in the studio or in the field. - Solid knowledge of cameras, lighting and other video production equipment - Solid knowledge of audio recording hardware and software - Experience with multi-media systems and conference spaces - Experience with computers and programs, including installing knowledge - Experience with video editing - Strong organizational skills - Good interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work under pressure - Ability to work and manage workload self-sufficiently and with initiative - Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment in a cooperative and professional Keywords: Communications
