Organization name Popdust Description of the organization and its target audience Popdust is the world’s foremost authority on pop music. Founded in February 2011, Popdust super-serves fans with a vibrant, irreverent, 24/7 mix of news, opinion, interviews, reviews, music premieres, and original video and content features on today’s biggest and brightest pop, hip-hop, R&B and country stars. Pop music has never been more commercially dominant or more creatively fertile–think Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and on and on–and yet its artists have never been afforded the kind of expert, passionate online coverage so often lavished on lesser, and lesser-selling, rock artists. Part music-nerd watering hole, part tart gossip outlet, Popdust is laser-focused on the never-ever-boring creative and personal lives of this generation’s most compelling entertainers. Industry Entertainment & The Arts Description We are looking to design a set of two banner ads for our site, popdust.com, to advertise an editorial feature called "Magic Box". These are house ads that run on the site when no paid advertising is available. We need two sizes, 728x90 and 300x250, and all submissions should show an execution of both sizes. We want the ad to have some animation, so this should be done in Flash. The total file size for each ad must not exceed 100KB. The Magic Box is a video segment where we have a pop star pick questions out of a "magic box" and then answer them on the spot. If you would like to watch previous installments of the Magic Box for inspiration, you can find an archive here: http://popdust.com/tag/magic-box We would like the ad to incorporate photos of three recent artists who have done interviews for us: Carly Rae Jepsen, Cher Lloyd, and Big Time Rush. I have attached a photo from each of their interviews for use in the ad. I have also attached the Magic Box logo (unfortunately, we only have this available as a screenshot from the video) as well as a zip file with all of the assets for our main Popdust logo. For consistency, these are some of the main colors you will see used throughout our website: pink text = #e90762 banner blue = #00c5e9 banner grey = #666666 banner pink = #f80868 pop off green = #63C900 pop off blue = #66CCFF For further inspiration, I have also attached a 728x90 and 300x250 house ad campaign we had designed a few months ago by another designer so you can get some idea of what we like. However, do not feel limited by this. We are ready for a fresh take on our house ads which is why we are running this contest. I have also attached a text file that has instructions on how to integrate the click tag code for our ad server. It's a simple ActionScript that should not pose any challenges.
