Black will count as a color. - Designs that feature all three elements of name, elevation and the gps coordinates look the best. - A design that has one single abstract element in addition to the requirements of the name, elevation and gps coordinates. For example an abstract of a mountain is good. An abstract of a hiker, mountain, stream and trees all together, not good. Sincerely , William Original Brief Posted**** The visual style should be one of a outdoor lifestyle and tradition. The t shirt will be worn by hikers, campers or outdoors people. Some folks may want to wear this shirt to show off their accomplishment of hiking this mountain. Colors pallet should use either greens, browns and or yellows. Reds and Blues as secondary colors are ok. The design can be either just words and numbers or it can include an outline, abstract image, illustration or icons.  HOWEVER, the image or graphic should be minor compared to the text of Mount Marcy. This is the second contest that I've run on 99Designs.  My responses will be quick and detailed.   I choose not to include any images or photos of what I'm looking for, because I really want to see some original ideas.  UPDATE 8/7/12 I'm trying to refine the above brief to better explain what I'm looking for.  I want a simple design with the text making up the majority or being the only thing in the design.  a SMALL accent of some kind is acceptable, but it should be minor compared to the text and should be abstract...like a mountain range, tent, hiker, tree, etc.  PLEASE no highly detailed images.  Also acceptable are boxes, outlines, or other lines to define an area around the text....not detailed like a seal or icon, but abstract. Regarding the font.  The font can be block like you see on the trail signs below.  Please avoid fancy script and fonts like Times New Roman or Garamond. The design of the t-shirt should be contained to the front center....not the stomach or bleeding off the bottom of the shirt.  Items on the top center of the backside of the shirt are acceptable too. Some of the design have been very "rugged"...I am looking for a more rustic and natural feel like you would experience in the Adirondacks. Some designers have asked if Mount Marcy can be written Mt. Marcy.....yes this is acceptable. Also, for inspiration I added some images below to give you an idea of what a hiker might see on the way to the mountain...signs, markers, views, etc.  I also attached a couple t-shirts that I like.
