Job Description Client is looking for a leader to join there Infrastructure Project Management team responsible for managing a complex technical environment using hybrid project management practices that are a combination of agile/scrum and waterfall. IT Infrastructure is responsible for implementing the systems and infrastructure for all of client's services. As a seasoned Project Management professional you exhibit an extremely high level of ownership and assume full accountability for managing and delivering your projects. An ideal candidate has a strong background in infrastructure technologies and is skilled with and experienced in large-scale project delivery environments with years of experience delivering complex technical projects using waterfall methodologies. The ability to determine the appropriate best practices, whether from waterfall or agile/scrum, and when to apply them in various situations is key in this role. Experience planning and leading technical project delivery teams in a fast-paced, high growth, technical environment is critical. The ability to form strong relationships with stakeholders is essential in this role. Responsibilities: Work with the Product Owner (PO) to manage the project backlog prioritization Work with the PO to create a high-level roadmap plan, plan resources, and create detailed plans to deliver projects in a release cycle Identify and manage project dependencies with both internal groups and vendors Ensure data is collected to allow accurate decision making in mitigating risks and resolving issues Track project progress against plan and provide regular communication on status, risks, and issues Follow a flexible and adaptive approach in utilizing a mix of waterfall and agile best practices Integrate planning processes and tools with program management and project management practices Facilitate and participate in planning activities with R&D, Tech Ops, IT Infrastructure, and other internal groups Promote the evolution of roles and responsibilities for the project management teams Promote continuous improvement by helping teams increase productivity and foster innovation Investigate and evaluate opportunities to improve work flows and delivery models to increase efficiency and delivery velocity Experience/Skills Required: 5+ years of waterfall project management experience delivering SW and/or infrastructure projects as a program or project manager in large, complex technical environments Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with technical team members Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate meetings where you will articulate complex concepts Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills Understanding of technical infrastructure delivery processes with the ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment Ability to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment with a highly collaborative, team oriented approach to problem solving Ability to prioritize tasks effectively with a high level of attention to detail Knowledge and experience using common project management tools: e.g. spreadsheets, MS Project, Visio, Power Point, and shared on-line documents such as google docs The ability to create forward-looking project plans with flexible and creative use of tools Experience/Skills Desired: Experience with Agile SCRUM delivery practices Experience delivering technical infrastructure to include data center infrastructure and related technologies and services Experience delivering infrastructure. related technologies and services for Information Security projects Software-as-a-Service experience (SaaS)/cloud computing Knowledge and experience using Agile tools such as Greenhopper (Atlassian) or Salesforce ADM tools PMI PMP or similar certification/training Scrum Master certification IT or Internet Site Project Management and Infrastructure experience Technical hands-on experience as a software developer, systems administrator, database administrator, storage engineer, or network administrator Process development training and experience For consideration please include Dice # 1557.
