Technology Support Engineer
Hi, We currently have a contract need with one of our Direct Client's. They are looking for Technology Support Engineers. Job Description o Manage the technical/hardware aspects of the Client services contract with IBM and AT&T through the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA). o Work with the Program Services Group and the Client Technical Architect to define the technology support needs of Client. o Attend meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. o Coordinate work assignments with agency and service provider staff to ensure services are delivered in a timely manner and within budget. o Research hardware and software applications for the purpose of recommending standardized equipment and applications in accordance with the Office of Information Technology goals and ensure the efforts of the GETS service providers are in line with agency strategic direction. o Define agency wide service levels in the area of server availability and backup, storage management /utilization, network availability, email services, and server performance. o Work with the Quality Assurance team to define standard procedures and metrics for assessing service levels. o Coordinate planning and requirements gathering for all GETS technology projects for Client o Assist with hardware and software installations/deployments. o Work effectively as part of a dynamic team with common objectives and be accountable as an individual. o Gather information from existing projects, analyzes program and time requirements. Assists the Enterprise Architect in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks. o Assist support and/or project personnel in resolving moderately complex program problems. o Participate in quality assurance activities such as peer reviews. o Develop a deep understanding of Client applications, services, and business objectives. Minimum Qualifications o A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a computer/engineering field of study. o A minimum of 3 years of production experience in hardware and software support in a large to complex Unix, Windows and virtual server environment, o 5+ years’ experience solving deployment issues with x86 servers, Linux, TCP/IP networking, firewalls, interprocess communication, etc. o 3+ years experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software o 3+ years network/telecom experience o Strong consulting and problem-solving skills o Excellent spoken and written communication skills o Ability to perform well in the face of tight deadlines and tough technical challenges o Desire to interact directly with customers to achieve customer satisfaction o Ability to rapidly gain in-depth knowledge of business systems and objectives o Strong multi-tasking skills o Skills to effectively engage strategic partners and Clients Offices at all levels, be able to clearly understand business & IT strategy. o Good understanding of IT, software licensing, contracts and engagement terms. o Must be a self-starter and a strong team player with a high level of commitment to success. o Analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs o Ability to express technical concepts in non-technical terms Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate the following: o Project or application management experience. o Previous experience in State Government o Previous experience in a health and human services environment o Previous experience working in an outsourced environment
