Our client, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is seeking a Senior Windows System Administrator. This position is responsible for successfully executing projects in the Windows/VMware area for new projects as well as life-cycle upgrades and refreshes. The candidate will be interacting with Service Delivery and Platform Management to deliver projects according to agreed upon timelines and budgets, with outstanding and consistent quality. They will be ensuring proper documentation though the complete project cycle. Primary Duties: Leads large projects within the Windows Platform group Provides guidance to Windows System Administrators, Engineers and Support Analysts Ensure the adherence to infrastructure architecture standards, including obtaining formal sign-off of architecture at the defined review points across the PRISM methodology Provides input to Platform Management and Infrastructure Architecture regarding existing and new technologies; reviews proposed changes architecture standards and technology roadmaps Supports the implementation and adoption of new technologies into the enterprise data center environments Installs Windows operating system and related system software, including upgrades, preventative and corrective maintenance through the change management process and within scheduled maintenance windows Administers the configuration of Windows operating systems and services for all enterprise data centers Monitors vendors' support facilities for hardware and software updates and recommends and implements maintenance to keep systems current and well within vendors' support requirements Provides for system continuity by developing backup and recovery processes and procedures to support recovery from hardware and application failures Develops Disaster Recovery plans, procedures and test scenarios and participates in regular DR rehearsals The successful incumbent in this position will have extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining and configuring Windows server hardware, operating system software and peripherals. Advanced knowledge and skills of the Microsoft server operating system are required. Strong analytical skills are required to understand, diagnose and resolve technical situations. Additional Requirements: Experience with VMware and Citrix is mandatory 4 year University degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar appropriate education 5 - 7 years of Windows Platform experience Excellent communication skills and proficiency in speaking English
