JOB DESCRIPTION SAP MM/PP Durham, NC Overview of Position The SAP MM\PP Architect is a member of the SAP organization that supports the global engineering, manufacturing and business system for Energy Fossil Products. The candidate must have in-depth experience implementing and supporting manufacturing (Engineer/Make to Order and Make to Stock) processes on a global basis. The ideal candidate also has experience implementing and supporting an Advance Planning and Scheduling (APS) system such as SAP APO. The individual will offer their knowledge and expertise regarding the SAP system to the team to ensure best business practices are defined in meeting the business requirements. This position will be member of the IT organization and will assist the team with analysis, design, evaluation, configuration, testing, and implementation of the system across the Purchasing (MM) , Warehousing (WM/IM) and Production (PP/APS) functional areas. Job Responsibilities * Provide Senior-level SAP consultant experience in the SAP MM & PP modules (including WM\IM) including integrating MM\PP with other modules of SAP, advanced manufacturing scheduling systems such as SAP APO and with manufacturing execution systems (MES). * Provide SAP knowledge and expertise within a cross-functional team in the following areas: o Lead or participate in business process design and re-engineering workshops o Ensure multi-country requirements are properly defined to support localization and statutory requirements. o Provide documentation of business processes, workflows and procedures o Develop Functional Design and Technical Design documents o Assist with preparation of user training materials o Configure, test and implement system changes following established change management processes o Diagnose and resolve system errors * Communicate regularly with stakeholders * Ensure system design standards are maintained Minimum Requirements: * Senior (10+ years) SAP consultant-level experience implementing and supporting MM (buy), Warehousing (WM\IM) and PP (make) processes. Experienced integrating MM\PP with other core SAP modules, especially PS and FI\CO. * 10+ years in technology roles with increasing leadership/architectural responsibility in developing, designing, supporting, governance, and strategic planning for scalable and highly available enterprise applications * 3-5 years working a complex, global manufacturing environment * Comfortable working in a self-directed environment * Must possess strong leadership qualities. * Ability to work well with others * Work with teams of varying sizes * Strong English verbal and written communication skills * Strong user of Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to travel (up to 20%) nationally and internationally Desirable Attributes * Broad experience across SAP systems and components (e.g. Portal, ECC and BI\BW) * Experience implementing and supporting advanced planned solutions such as SAP APO * at least 2 lifecycle implementations * Familiar with SAP NetWeaver application development Education & Certifications * BS degree in Computer Science, Business or related field/equivalent experience * SAP SCM Certification Preferred (This also means MM or PP certified) GROM Associates provides consulting services for Information Management Systems in a wide range of industries.
