They work in a casual but fast-paced environment with flexible schedules. This is a contract role with the client having 18 months of back logged work and no one in the role. Eventually this may lead to fulltime employment but please do not apply unless you are willing to accept fulltime hourly contract employment. Our client wants to round out the Seattle team with an expert RedHat/Linux Administrator. The need is an individual who has experience in Redhat and CentOS, to help improve the delivery infrastructure and improve the company**s Linux environment. The company needs a candidate with superb Linux skills, a significant self-starter not afraid to run with a project without direction and deliver results. Looking for someone who: ** Can provide Linux guidance and expertise ** Has knowledge of Linux internals and common daemons and scripting ** Has the ability to communicate effectively with the rest of the teams and the Engineering department ** Wants to OWN the solutions and DELIVER the results Responsibilities: ** Management of Linux based systems and applications in a production environment ** Monitoring, upgrades, patching, tuning, and troubleshooting ** Support Staging and Production environments with product deployments/releases ** Administer backups and restores for environment ** Track performance and capacity on an ongoing basis Qualifications ** Bachelor**s degree in CS, IS, Engineering and/or 5+ years** experience with CentOS or Red Hat. Industry certification in lieu of degree is acceptable. ** Expert understanding of CentOS, Red Hat, Tomcat, Apache, Netapp and NFS. ** Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, firewalls and load balancing. ** Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a wide range of technical and non-technical team members. ** Experienced system administrator who has maintained a large number of systems supporting multiple applications in a high-availability production environment ** Experience using scripting and automation to maintain and implement systems ** Experience with Clustering
