Cisco Network Res Engineer Phoenix, AZ Cisco Network Resident Technical Engineer CCCi has an opportunity for CCNA Resident Technical Engineers to provide Resident Network Infrastructure Data and Voice Break/Fix, IMAC Services and Project (Hands-On) Support for our large Computer Services? financial services client in the Phoenix, AZ area. This is a contract opportunity with the possibility for day-shift and night-shift positions. Cisco Network Resident Technical Engineer Description of Services - In agreement with the customer needs and service level agreement, he/she identifies the opportune solutions to hardware issues - Key responsibility is to solve customer connectivity issues in a timely manner while balancing customer satisfaction and delivery effort - The Resident Technician needs to use the appropriate tools and procedures in order to prevent and/or identify eventual issues - The Resident Technician provides all services throughout this project life cycle - Priority for the Resident Technician is to maintain relationship with the customer - He/she contacts the local or remote HP teams if necessary and keeps contact with the account team as needed. - Resident Technician maybe required to work alone or as part of a local or remote support team as engaged by the client CNOC - The CNOC or client Operational Engineering Team may ask the Resident Technician to provide hands and eyes hands-on support. Cisco Network Resident Technical Engineer Basic Skills Required: - Able to lift 40 pounds. - Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time (20 min. +) while troubleshooting or installing equipment depending on the situation and circumstance. - Able to work in extreme environment situations such as tight spaces, dimly lit areas, hot or cold temperature environments and dusty areas. - Able to work well as part of a team and alone. - Able to work and effectively communicate in a culturally diverse environment. - Able to understand and use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Communicator and Outlook. - Able to adapt to a fast pace work environment. - Able to write clear and concise sentences and paragraphs as part of email or other written communication and documents. - Able to quickly learn new technologies and flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and environments. - Able to prioritize work load with minimal supervision based on established Severity Levels and Service Level Agreements (Section 5.2). - Able to apply efficient Time Management skills and allocate time effectively. - Able to take and follow directions and processes and procedures. - Able to demonstrate proper and professional email and telephone etiquette at all times. - Able to maintain a proper and professional dress code and appearance at all times. - Able to come to work on time. - Valid driver?s license and reliable transportation that will allow staff to drive to other customer sites as needed. - Able to display professionalism at all times when dealing with Customer or HP personnel. - Able to perform under high pressure situations and within tight time requirements. - Able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal relationship skills. - Able to read and write to no less than a 10th grade level. - Able to read, understand and follow schematic drawings, blueprints, CAD drawings and other engineering documentation or drawings. - Work is completed on time with minimal supervision. - Able to multi-task. - Able to work on assignments/tasks that are complex in nature and require sound judgment, initiative and technical/specialized knowledge to resolve problems and/or develop recommended solutions. - Able to actively participate in meetings and conferences, both onsite and virtually. - Able to follow directions. - Must be responsible for the secure storage, use and maintenance of expensive and fragile data and voice test equipment. - Must have an understanding of Physical Security, Access Control, Information Security and Privacy Awareness Principles and follow all security requirements for data and voice communication as well as physical access control and facility security. Cisco Network Resident Technical Engineer Minimal Technical Skills Required: - Must be Cisco CCNA Certified and understand Cisco network technologies. - Have knowledge of TCP/IP (Protocol Stack, Communication, OSI Model and Subnetting). - Understand and be able to troubleshoot network protocols and standards. - Understand and troubleshoot Ethernet network media and topologies and be able to apply network troubleshooting steps to identify, isolate and repair problems on an Ethernet network. - Have a working knowledge of Server and Desktop Operating Systems such as Microsoft Vista, XP or Ver7. - Have a working knowledge of Personal Computing (PC) and Server hardware and core software applications to be able to identify if a customer problem is network or customer device related. - Understand Voice over IP (VoIP) Essentials to include Cisco and Avaya Call Manager fundamentals. - Understand basic network cable types and how to troubleshoot them (Single-Mode and Multi-mode Fiber, CAT 3 thru 6, IBM Type 1&2, UTP, STP, Coax, Serial). - Using fiber scopes, meters and probes must be able to troubleshoot problems on an optical fiber network over single-mode or multi-mode fiber. - - Able to clean fiber optic connections and pad and attenuate fiber optic signals using various decibel attenuating adapters. - Understand and identify data and voice circuit types (T1, DS3, etc). - Have a basic knowledge of Voice PBX Systems such as Avaya PBX. - Able to deploy and troubleshoot Wi-Fi (Wireless) devices in an Enterprise Network. - Able to manage and use Network Diagnostic Tools such as Etherscopes, Probes, Sniffers, Circuit Testers and Optiviews to troubleshoot and isolate complex network problems. - Able to troubleshoot voice and data circuits, CSU/DSU?s, Muxes, Network Interface Units (NIU); using system knowledge, test tools and diagnostic devices and loop back plugs. - Technician needs to have Email, Spreadsheet and Personal Computer usage knowledge as well as a working Cell Phone with Text Messaging capability.
