Business Intelligence Business Analyst
A well know Australian Institution is seeking a Business Intelligence Business Analyst to provide detailed and structured project objectives, structured requirements, process analysis and cost-benefit analysis. This is a 6 month contract located just outside the CBD with the possibility of an extension. Key Responsibilities: Ensuring the project scope is adhered to through the life of the project with potential changes subjected to appropriate change management processes Set up and define metrics for the broader business Assessment, analysis and evaluation of business needs to determine the most appropriate solution options Liaising with business stakeholders throughout the delivery phases of developed solutions or products Designing and developing high quality business solutions Ensure the strategic direction of the organisation is being adhered to Production of business requirements that permit cost efficient and quality solutions. Incorporating both business agreement/sign off and IT sign off. Ensure projects are aligned with the strategic direction of the organisation. Run structured interviews and workshops with the business and the coordination of solution meetings with development teams. Strong understanding and buy in to the organisation's strategic goals in terms of both business and IT objectives Key Requirements: 6+ years experience as a Business Analyst working within Business Intelligence or using BI/DW concepts and reporting tools such as Hyperion and Peoplesoft Financials A sense of urgency in the way tasks are undertaken, have the ability to work under pressure, be able to prioritise tasks effectively and use your initiative. Strong analysis skills - catering for solutions that cover processes end to end. Ability to conceptualise ideas and visions, think creatively and quickly grasp and understand the business's needs and strategic directions Ability to influence and negotiate, through to Senior Management levels if required, in order to recommend viable options and IT preferred direction/solutions; whilst still meeting the business requirement Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work well within a team or autonomously Exceptional time/task management skills. Experience working within a disciplined Project Management and SDLC methodologies
