IntelliBridge Partners has a 2-3 month contract opening for a Payroll Accountant in Sacramento, CA. In this position you will be responsible for the payroll functions of approximately 600 employees. Qualifications: Three years of overall payroll experience with at least one to two years of experience with payroll functions for CalPERS agencies. Strong background with Microsoft Excel 2010 Experience with financial software system. Eden (Tyler Technologies), Compass or highly desired. Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations and practices/procedures related to payroll, including specialized FLSA requirements for safety positions. Ability to work independently and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Duties Prepares payroll documents and related personnel documents; checks and adjusts attendance records and time sheets; calculates or checks gross pay, overtime and other supplemental pay and pay adjustments. Processes employee salary transactions related to employment, promotion, transfer, upgrading, acting, classification level, compensation time off (CTO), accrued sick leave, and vacation leave/paid time off (VL/PTO) use affecting the status of District employees; completes “buy-back” processes and performs audits of VL/PTO balances, yearly, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Receives and reviews payroll documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance to District policies and procedural requirements; ensures that proper documentation and authorizations are obtained prior to processing; codes appropriate documents for payroll processing purposes. Researches, and independently resolves discrepancies in payroll documentation; contacts division supervisors or management representatives in order to resolve discrepancies. Audits salary changes and transactions, payroll corrections, work out-of-class corrections, and other reports to ensure compliance with applicable Memorandum of Understanding, and other regulations (FLSA); approves changes to payroll master records. Calculates, verifies, and processes workers’ compensation “4850” pay. Verifies employment and compensation when requested by lending institutions. Conforms to IRS and County payroll requirements.
