Kforce is seeking a motivated, highly qualified person in our Pleasanton, California client's Service Delivery for Middleware Group. This Group manages delivery of middleware services for all applications enterprise-wide for our client in an outsourced delivery model provided by IBM Global Services. Middleware covers a wide range of software including WebSphere, AppServer, IBM HTTP Server, WebSphere MQ, Message Broker, WebSphere Process Server, and Microsoft IIS. Service Delivery is governed by an ITIL-based Change Management process and administered through BMC's Remedy Change Management System. The SDM Lead works with IT Project Teams and IBM Delivery Teams to facilitate delivery of a middleware service that meets organizational change management requirements; and guidelines and will; make ensure compliance with outsourcing contractual requirements; maximizes project team timelines; and effectively utilize IBM delivery team resources. Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position involves extensive communication with business application teams, IBM Global Services delivery teams, and multiple management groups across IBM and our client Good understanding of an ITIL-based service delivery model Experience from an architectural and hands-on administrative perspective with WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM MQ messaging systems, and Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) Additionally, experience with performance monitoring network configurations, load balancers, UNIX and Windows Server administration, SAN storage configurations, and various federated topologies are a plus Middleware Currency Focus Areas: As part of WAS Core Team, help achieve objectives of the Middleware Currency program Support transformation of upgrade processes including automation, streamlined processes and practices Drive implementation of improved practices in partnership with the SI and IBM SO teams Support resolution of selected I-Program issues pertaining to data center implementation Drive streamlined application-IMG interfaces in concert with the Middleware Currency program Support selected WMB related upgrade needs Top 3-5 Desired Skills: Experience with UNIX / Windows administration Familiarity with service management tools and reporting tools Familiarity with systems performance and monitoring
